NEW!: The
NOAA Global Monitoring
Exhibit, the brainchild of NOAA Surface Observation
Program Manager, Dessa Emch, is now open for tours! As many
of you know, I designed, built and landscaped the exhibit
having volunteered over 800 labor hours and 100 design hours
to the project whose funding was obtained through the sole
efforts of Dessa Emch. The community, schools and businesses
are encouraged to contact the Oxnard National Weather
Service Office to schedule a tour! Be sure to drop me or
Dessa Emch, from the National Weather Service office in
Oxnard, a line and let us know what you think! (read

Professor Russell and I would like to give a very
special thanks to the five individuals who dedicated their
time and efforts to completely upgrade our building: Thank you
to the electrician Adolfo, to the carpenters Mike and Andy,
and to the painters Juan and Sam. I will upload photos when
all the upgrades--made possible by the grant Congressman
Sherman obtained for us--are complete!
There have been several requests for tours
of the station, however I cannot give tours until the project
is complete due to safety issues. If you are interested in
coordinating a tour in the future, please contact Professor
Russell. We will be more than happy to give tours of the
station when it is complete!
Please be aware that this project will not
be complete for months to come, and is estimated to take
one year to finish. Thank you for your supportive e-mails!
Professor Russell and I
look forward to seeing you all at the station when it's up and
running! - Steve
